A million dollar smile
I woke up at 6.30 in the morning, went for my usual walking spree in the garden near to my house. Everything was usual as every morning. Winds blowing by, people jogging and exercising. I took two rounds of the garden. When I was on my third round I saw an old man walking ahead of me. He almost looked like Gandhi Ji to me, same attire and same body structure. I was amazed. I noticed him for a while and then continued with my walking. After a while, when I was about to leave that garden, suddenly I saw the same old man coming towards me. He just smiled and said Namaste beta. I was dumbstruck, not only because I didn’t know him but by the charm and warmth of his smile. I don’t know why he greeted me; maybe he confused me with someone else. I too greeted him back. Whatever it was, it just made my day. I realized at that moment what a smile can do to another person. If a stranger’s smile can make me feel good, then why can’t we just smile all day and give others the privilege to enjoy their day. Yes, it’s not so hard to smile back at a person. It won’t make a huge difference to their lives. But definitely it will make them feel nice for a moment. Smiles are contagious. Try smiling a little more and you will see the world smiling with you.
